Initial Examination, Consultation, Recall examination and Radiographs

At your initial examination, consultation or recall visit with one of our dentists, we may suggest digital dental x-rays be taken of your teeth and gums during your check-up. A dental x-ray is the only accurate way that the dentist can 'see' between the teeth, under fillings and to assess bone levels.

Your Dentist may also offer you a scale and clean to remove calculus (tartar) and plaque build-ups.

At the end of your visit, your Dentist will discuss the condition of your teeth & gums; then they will outline any suggested treatment options with you. They will provide you with all the information required for you to make a decision as to whether you go ahead with treatment and what treatment option is best for you. Prior to any future appointments or commencement of work, your Dentist will provide you with a personalised treatment plan outlining treatment options, necessary appointments and fees. You will be able to discuss all aspects of possible treatment, fees and payment options with our Practice Manager before you leave.

If you do not need to make additional appointments for treatment, you can either make an appointment for your next six monthly check-up at this time or wait until you receive an recall reminder.
